LegacyMaker Training Vault/ID8/[ID8] How To Use The ID8 AI Assistant

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a project using one of Legacy’s most unique and valuable features, the ID8 AI Assistant.

Objectives:

  • Start a new project using ID8
  • Use the digital recorder to capture your ideas
  • Use the ID8 prompt box to collaborate with the AI Assistant
  • Modify a prompt
  • Navigate between output versions
  • Edit an output
  • Color-code output versions
  • Add new project folders
  • Add new content
  • Compose into multiple composition formats

Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following:

  • An active LegacyMaker account
  • An internet connection

Step by Step Walkthrough:

STEP #1:

From your dashboard, click the ID8 microphone icon on the upper toolbar. This is distinguished from the traditional recorder icon with a lightning bolt.

STEP #2:

Use the red record button at the bottom of the page to capture your ideas.

STEP #3:

When you’ve finished recording, click “save” to upload your audio. ID8 will automatically transcribe your file. (Any colored text is a signal to double check the transcription for accuracy in areas where the audio may have been unclear.)

STEP #4:

Once your audio has finished processing, you’ll notice that ID8 automatically generated cover images, titles, and subtitles to reflect the content.

STEP #5:

To continue expanding on your ideas, type a message into the ID8 prompt box and click “Gen” to collaborate with the AI Assistant. The system is trained to generate content by drawing from your own idea base first, before seeking external information. (The more content you have in your account, the more it has to draw from!) Once ID8 has generated a response, it will populate on screen directly below your prompt.

STEP #6:

To generate a new version using the same prompt, click the blue “Regen” button under your initial prompt.

STEP #7:

To have the AI rewrite a new version with a modified prompt, locate the blue “Gen” button below the output and click the arrow to open the Rewrite prompt box. You may use the default prompt or add your own parameters, then click “Rewrite”.

STEP #8:

Once the AI has processed, you can scroll between versions using the left and right arrows above the output.

STEP #9:

To edit an output, double click within the text to activate the editor then click “save” when you’re finished, or continue modifying with the same prompting process.

STEP #10:

Once you’re satisfied, click the colored bar to color-code this version as you see fit. (This will allow you to easily filter which content to include in your final project when you go to export later on.)

STEP #11:

To add a new folder to your project, click the menu arrow to the right of your top folder and select the “+ Folder” button.

STEP #12:

To add content to your new folder, click the microphone icon to open the recorder, or type a prompt into the AI prompt box.

STEP #13:

Once you’re finished adding content to your project, click the Compose tab to export your work into one of several composition formats.

STEP #14:

If you compose into the Reader, click the Reader tab on the left to access your final project.

STEP #15:

All other composition options can be accessed via the Compositions icon in the upper toolbar.
